Why the off-road version
The X2 has wide deep-tread tyres, a higher platform and dynamic stabilisation software tuned for rough ground. Bumps, grass, gravel, sand and small slopes do not stop the ride.
Scratch-resistant bumpers protect the body, and steel handles make it easier to load the vehicle into a car – which is why the X2 copes well with transport from event to event.

How you ride it
A Segway keeps its balance by itself: sensors and electric motors correct the position of the platform many times per second. The rider leans slightly forward to move and back to slow down. Turning is done by tilting the handlebar left or right (LeanSteer) – the same natural reflex of leaning towards where you want to go.
The InfoKey controller shows speed, distance travelled and battery level, and also activates the alarm.
Where the Segway came from
The Segway was invented by the American inventor Dean Kamen, who also created a portable insulin pump and a portable dialysis machine. It was presented to the public in 2001 and was soon used by city services and police, at airports, on golf courses and in tourism – it is electric, quiet and agile.
